As an art fund, Wyvern offers financial support for artists and thinkers to work on their own projects. As a community, Wyvern explores possible forms of togetherness through collective curatorial practices. We hope to co-create aesthetic experiences as a trust-based community.
Financially, Wyvern offers three types of support. Our Micro-Grants are designed for Berlin-based independent artists and thinkers, offering one-time, no-strings-attached support for grantees.
We also run Scholarship Programs twice a year, each lasting four months. Every program accepts 6-8 fellows, supporting them as they collaborate on an exhibition centered around a specific theme.
The third kind of support is Workshop Sponsorships. Practitioners of all kinds are invited to submit workshop proposals via our application portal. Approved workshops receive sponsorship to be hosted at our regular meeting spaces.
Wyvern is creating a support network for artists and thinkers, both in and beyond the city, with the hope that it lasts longer than money. We are exploring methods and practices for autonomous and sustainable co-existence.
No matter what direction your interest is in, as humans in the current epoch, we share common confusions and anxieties about pre-established social protocols to some degree. Come join us at one of our community workshops to explore how we can build trust in a nurturing environment. For example, we have organized workshops that explore fulfilling conversations beyond career topics, and somatic and relational games around boundaries.
Got an interesting project idea but having trouble finding people to collaborate with? We operate a match-making system to help artists, thinkers, and practitioners to connect with each other. We also arrange performance/showcase spaces based on availability.
At our core, we are humans who thrive in a community that makes us feel seen and supported. A community space that makes us feel fulfilled is hard to find, especially in a landscape where profit motives often bias match-making and knowledge sharing systems. We work towards democratizing knowledge and skills by organizing events where practical knowledge sharing takes place.
In short, Wyvern Art Fund provides a temporary breathing space for those of us who wish to step back, reflect on, imagine, and practice different forms of togetherness.
